The library in partnership with the Cayuga Museum of History and Art will be offering chair yoga classes with instructor Wendy Vitale at 3 pm on Wednesday, February 1 and 8 at the Carriage House Theater, 203 Genesee St REAR, Auburn, NY 13021.
Registration is not required. Mats are not required, but please bring a water bottle. If you plan on wearing shoes/sneakers during class, please bring them to put on once you arrive.

LEGO Robotics STEM with 4-H
LEGO Robotics STEM with 4-H
February 8, 2023 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
4-H of Cayuga County is again offering a STEM activity for students 7-12 years old at Seymour Library on Wednesday, February 8 at 3:30 pm.
This activity will utilize two Lego robots, Vernie and Frankie, who are programmed using a block-code. Students will learn about how to break down complicated tasks into smaller commands and link up these small commands so they can complete the desired task. Students will then work together to complete several directed tasks with the robots and then an open-ended task.
The activity will last for approximately 75 minutes. Space is limited. Please register in the Family Space or by calling the library at 315-252-2571.

Journey through time during this presentation focused on William H. Seward’s 1870-1871 travels at the end of his life. Kate Grindstaff, Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Seward House Museum, will highlight Seward’s final travels and the best-selling book he produced as a result with the help of Olive Risley.
Explore how Seward was a citizen of the world and an early advocate of American globalization and empire on Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 pm at Seymour Library.

In 1903, Theodore Roosevelt was president, the silent film, “The Great Train Robbery”, debuted, Orville and Wilbur Wright were the first to fly a controlled, powered, and sustained heavier-than-air airplane, Jack London's novel “The Call of the Wild” and Beatrix Potter’s “The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin” were published, and Seymour Library opened at its new location, 176 Genesee Street, in the Case Memorial Building, on New Year's Day.
Join us in celebrating the 120th anniversary of the Case Memorial Building (home of Seymour Library)!
