The leaves are falling, and Seymour Library is calling!

Seymour Library’s October programs are packed with Fall Family Fun! From a ghost-themed scavenger hunt in the Family Space, to ghostly STEAM, a Fall StoryWalk®, Halloween Trivia Night, and our yearly Craft Spooktacular & Trick-or-Read event- there is something for everyone. The best part- all these programs are free!

Stop into the Family Space throughout the month of October and participate in our Scavenger Hunt! Find all the friendly ghosts hiding amongst the books and win a prize! Remember to look high and low.

The library’s Saturday STEAM program combines science with reading!
Join us on Saturday, October 11, at 1 pm and listen to the book There’s a Ghost in this House by Oliver Jeffers, then participate in hands-on ghostly science experiments! Designed for ages 6-12, but all ages are welcome. No registration required.

Mark your calendars for the library’s Fall Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 18, from 11 am to 2 pm. Celebrate the season with an afternoon of fall-themed crafts, Trick-or-Read giveaways, treats, and a special Halloween performance with Jeff the Magic Man.

Join Jeff the Magic Man at 11 am for a “Not-So-Spooky Spooktacular” Halloween show. Some things that may seem spooky can actually be silly and fun! Each child will receive their very own “flying pumpkin” balloon bracelet to take home.

After the show, check out our fall-themed crafts for all ages, stop at each of our Trick-or-Read stations and collect fun giveaways, including a book and Pokémon cards, and enjoy treats courtesy of the Friends of Seymour Library.

This program will be held outside on the library’s front lawn. If there is rain, the fun will be moved inside. No registration required. Crafts and giveaways will be available while supplies last.

Take a fall stroll and read a book at the same time with Seymour Library’s pop-up StoryWalk® at Westminster Manor, 81 South St, Auburn, NY.

The community is invited to take a stroll around Westminster Manor’s beautiful gardens and enjoy a story! New books will be installed through October. The StoryWalk® will be open to the public every day 9 am to 5 pm. Visitors are asked to be respectful of the residents at Westminster Manor and to stay outside of the building while visiting.

Funding for the StoryWalk® comes from the Finger Lakes Library System Outreach Mini-Grant Program.

For teens looking to celebrate the season, here are some programs designed just for you!

Stop by the library on Saturday, October 18, from 11 am to 2 pm and check out our Spooky Art Station! Try your hand at the viral ghost art made popular on social media. (Part of the library’s Fall Family Fun Day!)
