Contains different kits of materials and picture books that assist families in healing during periods of trauma. Seymour Library offers three kits focusing on “tough” topics that families can use together at home: “Death of a loved one”, “Death of a pet”, and “Alzheimer’s and your family”.
Mental Health Wellness Backpacks
These learning backpacks include books and activities for families to explore topics on mental health and wellness. Topics include: “Practicing Mindfulness”, “Understanding Feelings”, and “I’m Worried”.
Funding for these resources comes from NAMI Cayuga County, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Allan H. & Helen C. Miskell Foundation. These backpacks are available to all cardholders in the Finger Lakes Library System.
