Library News

New hours for June image

New Expanded Hours Starting June 1:

Starting Tuesday, June 1st Seymour Library will be open for more hours. Our new hours will be: Monday through Wednesday 9 am to 7 pm, Thursday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm

Printing services are available, Wifi is accessible throughout the building, and you can make an appointment to use one of our public computer stations by calling the library at 315-252-2571.

In-person technology help is also available. Receive assistance with digital downloads (OverDrive, Hoopla, ect.), and computer basics training. Call the library to speak to Bill or email to make an appointment.

Seymour Library is requesting that all patrons wear a mask. Our patrons include a younger audience that is unable to be vaccinated at this time. In order to set an example for them, and in an abundance of caution to be sure that they and others unable to be vaccinated are safe, we ask that all patrons continue to wear masks. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this together.

Please continue to return your items to the library’s Book Drop.

Curbside Pickup: For those who are not ready to come into the library or for those who are looking for a fast pick up option, you can request Curbside Pickup. When you receive a notification that your hold request (book or other library item) is in, call the library and request curbside. A library staff member will bring your items right to your car! (Tips for Curbside)

Children’s Room Renovations: Construction is underway at Seymour Library as renovations are being made to update our Children’s Room into our new family space.

Popular collections from the Children’s Room can be found in the library’s new book room. Other collections around the library have been shifted to accommodate the change.

You will notice that sections of the library are currently unavailable to the public or that lights are off in certain areas. Library staff are more than happy to assist with retrieving a book.

The library’s History Discovery Center is closed at this time, but research questions can be emailed to

Construction vehicles/equipment will be parked in the library’s parking lot for the duration of the project, but there is still parking available to visitors.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this remodel. We cannot wait to share the new family space with you! We will continue to post renovation updates on our Facebook page. You can find out more information about the Children’s Room Renovation here:
