Tips for Lobby Pickup

Placing a Hold

Place your hold online at seymourlibrary.org or over the phone at 315-252-2571, you will receive an automated message or email when the hold is ready for pickup. You do not have to schedule an appointment, you can come into the library to pick up your items anytime we are open.

Library users will be able to place holds on all materials in the Finger Lakes Library System (delivery from other libraries will begin July 21). Please be aware that once delivery from FLLS starts, it will be limited to once a week. This will allow for items to be quarantined between libraries, for the health and safety of library users and staff.

Wondering how to place a hold online? We have a video for that!

Find out how to log in to your online library account, and how to use your online account to place a book on hold, maintain a reading list, create book lists, or access the online databases (eResources).

Returns

Please return items to the library’s book drop before entering the lobby to pick up your holds. This will help with our quarantine process of returned library items. Our book drop will remain open 24/7 for returns.

Safety Regulations

Library users will be asked to wear a mask and follow physical distancing regulations. The number of people in the lobby at one time will be limited. We ask that only one person per family/household enter the lobby to pick up holds.

Checkout

They have not been checked out to you. You can use the library’s self-check machine or checkout at the library’s main desk. Please follow the physical distance markers around the library’s lobby.

Note: Only the library’s lobby area will be open to the public.
