Friends of Seymour Library Bus Tour (Day Trip)
to New York Botanical Garden

Travel to Wonderland during the Friends of Seymour Library’s Bus Tour to the historic New York Botanical Garden (2900 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10458), on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Explore over 250 acres of whimsical floral displays, contemporary artwork, and mesmerizing installations that bring Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to life! This garden-wide exhibit, Wonderland: Curious Nature, features all kinds of wonders from a 12 ft rabbit to larger-than-life mushrooms, a chess board, over 100 topiaries in geometric shapes, a shimmering looking-glass, and more! Interact with characters from Wonderland as you stroll through gardens over 130 years old. Take in magnificent natural sights, including 650 varieties of roses in peak bloom, aquatic plants, traditional English gardens, and plant oddities from around the world. Enjoy themed treats available to purchase throughout the gardens, or stop into Pine Tree Café for casual dining. 

Tickets for the Friends Bus Tour to the NYBG will be available starting Tuesday, April 9 at Seymour Library or online using PayPal. Tickets are $155.00 (non-refundable) and include:

  • One round-trip travel ticket on an Onondaga Coach Charter Bus (pick up and drop-off at Seymour Library, 176 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY 13021)
  • an All Garden Pass to the NYBG
  • a guided tour with an expert
  • and a 30-minute tram tour

Your donations from the event will go directly to support Seymour Library programs and services.

Participants will be required to fill out and sign a Travel & Trip Risk Acknowledgement/Liability Waiver Form.

“The Garden, its buildings, and its tour vehicles are accessible to people with disabilities, with the exception of a few areas where the terrain is naturally uneven. Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the Leon Levy Visitor Center and Mosholu Entrance. Reservations are not accepted and an ID must be left with Visitor Services for the loan. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own mobility devices and review the Garden map to plan their visit.”

The purpose of the Friends of Seymour Public Library District is to maintain an association of persons interested in books, libraries, and the promotion of lifelong literacy, focus public attention on Seymour Public Library District services, facilities, and needs, and enhance the community’s appreciation for the library, stimulate gifts that may be used for collection development and other library needs and to actively promote and support the financial and economic well-being of the Seymour Public Library District.
