Borrow
To borrow materials from Seymour Library, you must have a valid Seymour Library or Finger Lakes Library System card. You must have your card with you to borrow materials, and your account must be in good standing.
Loan periods, limits, and returns
Books may be borrowed for 21 days, with two renewals.
Magazines may be borrowed for 14 days, with one renewal.
Feature films on DVD may be borrowed for seven days, with two renewals. Nonfiction DVDs (documentaries and instructional movies, for the most part) and television series on DVD may be borrowed for 21 days, with two renewals. Patrons may borrow up to five DVDs at one time.
Audiobooks may be borrowed for 21 days, with two renewals. Patrons may borrow up to five audiobooks at one time.
Most items will automatically renew. If an item that you have borrowed does not renew, contact us.
Borrowed items may be returned to the library’s book return when the library is closed, to the library during our hours of operation, or any member library of the Finger Lakes Library System.
Placing a hold
You can place a hold on an item to have it picked up at Seymour Library. To place a hold on an item, call the library, ask a staff member or place a hold online.
Inter-library loan
In-system interlibrary loan is available for member libraries of the Finger Lakes Library System.
Requesting materials
You may request materials for purchase that are not available through the Finger Lakes Library System or Interlibrary loan at the library or online.
Fines and fees
Seymour Library no longer charges fines for overdue materials.
We know that accidents happen. Please be aware that:
If you lose or damage an item, you will be charged a $10 processing fee for books and other materials, $2 for magazines in addition to the replacement cost of the item.
If you owe more than $5 in fees, you may not check out materials or use the library’s public access computers.
Fees may be paid online or at the library.
