Browsing assistance
Patrons who need assistance accessing the collection due to a disability may ask staff for one-on-one assistance. The library offers a concierge service during the week. Staff working at the Circulation Desk or the Family Space are also willing to assist at any time during our hours of operation.
Books by Mail
Books by Mail is a new service from Seymour Library that will deliver books and some media (audiobooks and DVDs) to homebound patrons. This service is offered to any Seymour Library cardholder who is not able to come into the library because of a temporary or permanent disability and satisfies the eligibility criteria.

The SAPPHIRE is a portable magnifier that may be borrowed from the library for use at home or on the go.
Large Type collection
Seymour Library offers a wide selection of large-type books.
Audiobooks
Seymour Library offers a large collection of audiobooks. Audiobooks are available on CD, Playaway (handheld all-in-one audiobook), or digitally. Digital audiobooks can be downloaded or streamed from OverDrive/Libby or Hoopla.
eBooks
eBooks are available through OverDrive and Hoopla. eBooks allow you to adjust the font size and style, as well as the text and background colors and are easy to access.
Magnifying glass
The library provides magnifying glasses at the main desk for patrons to use within the library.

The LEAP program gives qualified patrons free access to the Bookshare collection, which provides books in fully accessible DAISY format. www.bookshare.org/cms
Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL)
Talking Book and Braille Library lend audiobooks for free to people who have difficulty using printed materials due to medical reasons. The audiobook cartridges are sent through the mail from the New York State Library in Albany. Shipping is always free both ways!
Audiobook titles can also be downloaded instantly from their online library, Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD). TBBL provides a free player to each patron and you can transfer electronic BARD files to a variety of devices. Braille items are also available by mail.

A free digital library of Spanish materials for people who cannot use print materials.
The Described and Captioned Media Program
This program loans captioned and described K-12 educational media to people who are visually impaired or deaf. Members can play videos online or request DVDs by mail.
