Explore the impact of the Erie Canal on food in Upstate New York with Derrick Pratt, Director of Education & Public Programs at the Erie Canal Museum. From its completion in 1825 and over the next 200 years, the Erie Canal radically transformed food export and availability. Learn what staples and delicacies the Erie Canal brought to people’s doorsteps and how that changed over time.
