Budget Referendum and Trustee Election

Seymour Library Budget Referendum & Trustee Election

Seymour Public Library District held a referendum on its proposed operating budget for 2025 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Voters were asked to vote yes or no on the following question: Do you approve of the 2025 budget of the Seymour Public Library District in the amount of $1,100,310 of which $1,043,250 will be raised by a property tax levied against real property within the district?

The results of the voting were: yes.

Three trustees also were elected to the library board. They are Russell Harkins, who will represent the City of Auburn for a four year term, Margaret Vanek, who will represent the Town of Owasco for a four year term, and Kimberly Schulze, who will represent the Town of Fleming for a four year term. Their terms will start January 2025.


The board of trustees is composed of two members each from Auburn, Owasco, Sennett, and Fleming, and one member who represents the Seymour Library Foundation. Learn more about the library’s Board of Trustees!
