Calling all explorers!
Discover Summer at Seymour Library, June 29 through August 16, and step into an adventure filled with storytimes, STEAM programs, book to movie clubs, and more. All you need is your imagination and curiosity!
The adventure starts on Saturday, June 29 with the Discover Summer Kick-off from 11 am to 2 pm. Drop-in activities include registration, storytime (11:30 am), crafts, face painting, sidewalk chalk art, a scavenger hunt, and more!
Don’t forget to check out our Discover Summer programs for adults! This year we are relaunching our adult summer reading program with a fun Book Bingo, an Adventure Lecture Series, a special performance by the Ivalas Quartet, Chair Yoga on the lawn, Beginner Mah Jongg classes and more! IMAGINE Storytime
Mondays at 9:30 am & 11 am
Families will engage in stories, songs, and movement together during this fun and interactive storytime focused on adventure. Participants will receive a copy of the featured storytime read-along book, while supplies last.
The 9:30 am and 11 am storytimes will feature the same books & activities.
For ages 2 to 5, but all ages are welcome.

Little Wigglers
Tuesdays at 11 am
Shake those wiggles out during this storytime designed for toddlers and their families. Explore stories, songs, and movement together!

STEAM Book Club
Tuesdays at 2:30 pm
Travel to the Frozen North with 66 pugs and one amazing sled race full of adventure, magic, and humor. Each week we will read aloud a section of Pugs of the Frozen North by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre, followed by some fun hands-on STEAM activities!
For ages 8 to 12, but all ages welcome.

Books & Babies
Wednesdays at 11 am
A lap-sit storytime for newborns (0 to 18 months) and their caregivers.
This special storytime focuses on encouraging early literacy skills through books, songs, movement, and discovery.

Book to Movie Club
Every Other Thursday from 6 to 8 pm
Book to Movie Club is back! Families will borrow a copy of the featured book to read together at home. Then join us at Seymour Library for a screening of the film and book discussion. For ages 8 to 12, but all ages welcome. Please register in the Family Space or by calling 315-252-2571.

Teddy Bear Picnic
Friday, July 19 from 4 to 6 pm
Bring your beary best friend for a storytime and picnic on the library’s front lawn! Design a new bear pal to take home, enjoy yummy snacks, and listen to some bear-themed stories (storytime at 5 pm). All ages welcome!
Jungle Adventure!
Friday, August 9 from 4 to 6 pm
Join us for a jungle adventure at Seymour Library! There is a giant snake slithering through the library’s gardens. Decorate a rock and see how big our snake friend can grow! Then journey to the depths of the jungle with Jeff the Magic Man at 4:30 pm. Find ancient treasure and become a jungle explorer. Stories, magic, jungle friends,balloon art, and more. All ages welcome!
PokéWalk
Saturday, July 13 at 2 pm
Saturday, August 10 at 2 pm
Play Pokémon GO with fellow trainers on a PokéWalk at Hoopes Park! Bring a device that is wifi compatible to connect to our library hotspot or take turns on the library’s device. For ages 7+, but all ages are welcome!
Storytime with the Auburn Fire Department
Saturday, July 20, at 11 am
Join the Auburn Fire Department at Seymour Library for a special firefighter-themed storytime. Learn about what firefighters do and receive some fire prevention tips! For ages 6 to 11, but all ages welcome.
StoryWalk®
Enjoy the library’s StoryWalkⓇ at three locations- Hoopes Park, 100 S. Herman Ave., Owasco Playground, 6 Bristol Ave, and new this year – Casey Park, 150 N Division St. New books will be added through August!
