Birdwatching, or birding, is a hobby that combines nature, adventure, and a little bit of detective work! In our region, we’re lucky to be surrounded by diverse habitats that attract countless bird species year-round. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious about spotting your first warbler, our region offers something for everyone.
Spread Your Wings And Explore Birding Hotspots
Starting in your backyard is a great way to begin your birding adventure! There are many species around us each day that we don’t even notice! When you are ready to venture out further, several birding hotspots are just a short drive away.

Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles and ospreys soaring overhead, colorful warblers flitting through the trees, and waterfowl gathering in the wetlands.
