Did you know that March is Paws to Read Month?! Celebrate reading and pets all month at Seymour Library with fun hands-on programs and some PAWsome reads! 

Pet-themed Programs

Storytimes, a visit from Trevor the golden retriever, LEGO challenges, and more! Join us for a barking good time in Seymour Library’s Family Space. We hope you think the library is the “cat’s meow” with these FREE programs, and best of “howl”, no registration is required!

Tales With Trevor
  • IMAGINE Storytime: Families will engage in stories, songs, and movement together during this fun and interactive storytime Mondays at 11 am. This month’s themes include: Cats, Dogs, Down on the Farm, and Your Imagination! Designed for ages 2 to 5, but all ages are welcome.
  • Tales with Trevor: For Paws to Read Month, join us at this dog-themed storytime with a special guest, Trevor the library dog, on Wednesday, March 6 at 4 pm! Trevor is a patient and friendly dog who loves to be pet and enjoys a good story. The Friends of Seymour Library will be handing out copies of Biscuit Loves the Library by Alyssa Satin Capucilli. Practice reading your new book to Trevor!
  • LEGO Club-Pet Challenge: Explore your creativity with LEGO challenges and games during the library’s new LEGO Club! Accept a pet building challenge and design your own creation from your imagination on Monday, March 11 at 4 pm. The library will provide all the LEGO bricks. Designed for ages 6 and up, but all ages are welcome.

Join our Community Giveback

Seymour Library will be partnering with Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY to help give back to our furry friends! Throughout the month of March, there will be a card-making station in the Family Space. Children and families can decorate a card and write a note to the animals at the SPCA.

Or pick an item from the SPCA’s wish list. There will be a donation box at the library throughout the month of March. Only donations of new items will be accepted.
