Seymour Library has you covered with a variety of free family fun programs (hands-on STEAM, drop-in crafts, and games) and activities designed just for teens (collage art, comic strip art, and trivia night)!
Here is your day-by-day breakdown of Spring Break at Seymour Library:
Saturday, April 12:

- Saturday STEAM (11 am)
Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Math at this monthly program. This month, we will mix, pour, and explore making Rainbow Cloud Dough! Designed for ages 6-12, but all ages are welcome.
Monday, April 14:

- Elephant and Piggie Party (10 am to 12 pm)
You are invited to an Elephant and Piggie Party! Celebrate our favorite Mo Willems’ characters with stories, crafts, and cupcake decorating! All ages are welcome.
Tuesday, April 15:

- Spring Crafts (10 am to 12 pm)
Calling all you crafty kids, join us for SPRING crafts at the library! All materials will be available to create three fun, spring-inspired crafts! All ages are welcome.
Wednesday, April 16:

- Make Your Own Bouncy Balls (10 am to 12 pm)
Have you ever wondered how bouncy balls are so bouncy? Or how they are made? Stop into this fun program and find out by making your very own bouncy ball! All ages are welcome.

- Collage Craft Night for Teens (4 pm to 5:30 pm)
Explore the art of layering materials to create unique pieces of art. Whether you are an experienced artist or just looking for something fun to do, drop in and get creative! All supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Designed for teens (age 12+).
Thursday, April 17:

- Bird Feeders (10 am to 12 pm)
Our feathered friends need to eat, and who’s going to feed them? WE ARE! Stop into the Family Space to make TWO bird feeders to bring home, or leave one here for the library birds. All ages are welcome!

- Visual Storytelling – Comic Strip Making for Teens (4 pm to 5:30 pm)
Love comics and storytelling? Learn the basics of visual storytelling and panel design. All materials provided, just bring your imagination. Designed for teens (age 12+).
Friday, April 18:

- Game Day (10 am to 2 pm)
Did you know that the library has a board game collection that you are able to borrow with your library card?! Stop into the Family Space to try out our collection of board games and maybe even check one out to take home! All ages are welcome.

- Teen Trivia Night! (3:30 pm to 5 pm)
Join us for teen trivia night! Participate in groups of 3 or less, or compete on your own to test your general knowledge of pop culture, history, science, and more. The team that scores the most points will win a prize. Pizza will be provided! Designed for teens (age 12+).

- SPRING Into Family Fun (Night)! (6 to 7 pm)
Spring is here! Families are invited to join us for a special Spring-themed storytime, followed by decorating a flower pot and planting your very own lemongrass! There will be a simpler flower craft available for younger children as well!

Seed Library Grand Opening

Tuesday, April 1 at 6 pm
Seymour Library, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, will be relaunching our Seed Library this spring! Join us for our grand opening, check out this year’s seed selection (participants can take 10 packets of seeds this year!) and enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of Seymour Library. A representative from the Cornell Cooperative Extension will be available to answer your gardening questions.
National Library Week with the Friends

Celebrate National Library Week with the Friends of Seymour Library. The Friends will be serving treats at the library Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 from 10 am to 2 pm. Stop in and say hello! Learn more about the Friends.
Poetry Open Mic Night

Thursday, April 24 from 6 to 8 pm
Calling all poets! Seymour Library will host an Open Mic Night on Thursday, April 24, from 6 to 8 pm, in celebration of National Poetry Month. Winners of the 2025 Poetry Contest will read their poems, and then members of the audience will be invited to read poems or perform spoken word. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Seymour Library. Poets of all ages are welcome!
